The waitlist
A waitlist entry is a request, not a booking. This is the whole idea, and it is worth being clear about because the two behave very differently.
Putting someone on the list for 2pm Tuesday does not hold 2pm Tuesday. That slot stays bookable by anyone. What you have captured is that this person wants roughly that time, so you can call them when it frees up.
Adding someone
From the Waitlist screen. Record what they want, whether they want a specific person or will take anyone, and the window that suits them.
Clients can add themselves too. When a day on your booking page has nothing free, a link appears under the message offering to take their details. The form says plainly that it does not book anything yet. Submitting the same details twice tells them they are already on the list rather than creating a second entry.
Reading the list
Each row shows the services wanted, whether they asked for a particular person by name, their window, and how long they have been waiting. "Any time Tuesday" reads as that, rather than as a 00:00 to 23:59 range.
Where two people want the same window, whoever asked first is shown first.
Filling a slot
Press Find times on a row. The times offered are inside the window that client asked for, and if they asked for a specific person, only that person's times appear.
Pick one and it books. The client leaves the list, gets a confirmation email, and appears on the calendar as a normal confirmed visit. There is exactly one of them: no leftover request sitting alongside the booking.
If someone else grabbed the slot a moment earlier, the booking is refused with a clear message and the client stays on the list rather than quietly vanishing.
Removing someone
Remove takes them off. Use it when they have booked elsewhere or no longer need the slot.
