Quick start

Five steps. You can do them in any order, but this is the order that involves the least backtracking.

The dashboard shows the same five as a checklist and ticks each one off as you finish it. Nothing to mark as done: it reads the state of your account.

1. Prepare your books

On the dashboard, press Prepare on the first step. This creates the chart of accounts your sales will post to, plus a walk in customer for clients who never give a name.

You are not asked anything about accounting, and pressing it twice is safe. If a warning names a few accounts it could not map, that is expected on a customised chart, and the message tells you where to map them.

2. Set your time zone and hours

Settings is where your working week lives. Set the time zone first, because every slot your clients see is calculated from it. A salon in Nairobi that leaves this on the default will offer 12:00 to 21:00 instead of 09:00 to 18:00.

3. Add your services

Go to Services and add what you sell. For each one you need a name, a price, and how long it takes.

If a service has a stage where you are not needed, add it as a separate step. A colour might be 20 minutes of work, 45 minutes developing, then 25 minutes finishing. Enter it that way and Upscale will sell the middle 45 minutes to somebody else.

See Services and pricing for categories, ordering and buffers.

4. Add your team

Go to Team, add each person, and tick the services they perform. Set their working hours while you are there. Anyone without hours will never be offered a slot, which is the single most common reason a booking page looks empty.

5. Turn on your booking page

Settings has your booking page address. It looks like bookings.upscaleerp.com/your-salon. Share that link, put it in your bio, print it on a card.

Open it yourself first, in a private window, and book something. It takes a minute and it is the only way to see exactly what a client sees.

After the first booking

The visit lands on your calendar. When the client arrives, open it and press Check in. When they are done, press Check out, take the payment, and Upscale posts the invoice in ERP for you.
